Default dented header , interesting damage....

thought I'd share this , if you header has been hit hard on the bottom , theres a good chance it could look like this around the O2 bung....



its a crack all the way across...

I will fixor it and post before/after pics.

no worse than alot of others I've seen...

you would hardly notice till you pull it off the car.

They call it a "tri-Y" connection or something like that.

What's wrong with the header in the pic? I thought more airflow is good??

You should have been around here a couple of years ago. There were Spoon header photos all over the place. I have always thought it was an interesting design, but as it turns out, there was still room for improvement in terms of power.

Maybe it's just me, but the investment in a lower tie bar or traction bar would seem likely to stop a lot of these header dents, no?

Maybe I'm paranoid because mine was nearly $900.

I threw on an MSM lower front tiebar...next morning I nailed a leftover steel bumper from an accident on the DC Beltway.

MSM bar = 1
Beltway trash = 0



Nevermind the huge dent in the bar It wouldn't have helped the front of the header being scraped (the common problem I see), but it did shield it further back.

Take care of my old header ...i didn't even look at the crack by the O2 sensor.
