Default Resetting timing.

I just swapped my cam gears, and rather than fiddle with getting the timing right, I decided I'm going to reset the timing. This shouldn't be hard right? I just have to set the number 1 piston to TDC and align my cam's to the top right? or is there more to it?

Default Re: Resetting timing. (Greyout)

the cam marks and the harmonic balancer will all have to match marks. You will need to take the plug out where you can see the flywheel and make sure that it isnt 180 out or else it will not start. Once you get the flywheel on the right mark, the mark on the harmonic balancer should be straight up matching the line up mark right above it. As for the cams, they should be straight up as well. Once all it straight, add the timing belt. It is best to have someone help you with this to make sure that the cams do not move and throw you off a tooth. You can also pull out the plugg and check for TDC insted of looking at the flywheel, but looking at the flywheel is much easier!
