Default D16Y7----Help---

Hey guys, I need some advice on what to do. I want My civic to be fast enough to beat my buddy's gsr , but I, as well as my wife drive the car daily, So reliablity is an issue I don't have a lot of money to spend....Also I am swapping to a Manual tranny, and please don't tell me to get a new car because that will not happen. I need to work with what I have. Any advice will help...whether it be...head swap, engine swap(multiple-choices), Turbo, supercharged, anything Thanks guys.

If i was you i would go forced induction..

Depending on how much money you have you can make it as reliable as you want it to be.

You could also do what we call on honda-tech a ''mini-me''

Get you a VTEC head throw you a nice cam and cam gear in there...a few bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust) and you'll be running with that gsr all day long..

Alli have is i/h/e and i run with my buddies gsr all day long with my d16z6

I'll vote for the turbo as well. I run a turbo y7 and have 0 trouble walking all over GSRs. My best 1/4 mile time to date was a 13.8@100 mph and that was on 10psi.

Just go for the turbo.

If I wanted to get back into Hondas and get off on the right foot that is how I would do it.

if you really want to work with what you have, just boost it. but since your gonna be having a sex change.. i dont really know. perhaps try to sell everything you got in the car and get a nice swap

hey dude..if your gonna swap trannies then you might as well get the EX tranny..trust me that tranny WILL DO YOU GOOD!!! Also if you're thinking about turbo then, here's my set-up that i just started as of yesterday.

Went to local junk yard and gots all this for $100.00

1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse TDO5H 14B Turbo
2 DSM side mount intercooler
4 DSM 440 Injectors
DSM B.O.V
DSM downpipe (use it to custom your own down pipe..it will be much easier with this one..cut and weld..)

Gonna make custom intercooler piping (using most of my AEM SR intake..i dont recommend welding the BOV on that though...)

For fuel management here are my choices:

if i use the 440cc injectors, i think i'll use the SAFC with it or else i'll run rich..(or VAFC if you got the vtec head), inline fuel pump( i heard it hogs gasoline though..)

or stock injectors, vortec fmu, aem or b&m fpr, inline fuel pump...

if you guys have any suggestions or comments go ahead and tell! 8)
