Crank Pully Help!!
Ok i bought my motor from a salvage yard and it didnt come with a crank pulley. What do u guy think of aftermarket light pulleys with it mess anything up or should i buy a stock one. Ive searched but coulnt seem to find what im looking for.PLease help soon need to get my motor running
D-series don't seem to have a problem running the light pulley, but B-series apparently do have problems. B-series pulley is said to have an impregnated rubber dampner in it to cut down vibration. Removing this with the use of an aftermarket pulley wears on the crank components. D-series don't have the rubber stuff.
If you are willing to spend the money get yourself an unothordox pully. I got one for my d15b and it's really nice. I bought the ultra R from jeg's for $150+shipping. It all depends on you. All sohc crank pullys work the samethough. I'm practically 100% positive on this. Just wait a few more post and see.

Honda carries them as different part numbers, but I'm pretty sure they are interchangable anyway.
Unorthodox racing has the crank pulley listed as the same for 88~95. On their web site they don't actually list it for 88~95, but it's the same number for the 88~91 application as the 92~95 application.
If you go with the unorthodox part and you have power steering in your 88~91 then it would appear that you need to use the 92~95 part because they don't offer 88~91 pulley with power steering.

Exactly, like 4dref mentioned unothordox has them listed like that for some reason but yeah I got the crank/alt only - no p/s. Get yourself a long string and tie it around your crank pully and alt and save yourself the hassle of buying 3 different belts trying to figure out which one it is. Go to your local autozone and they have a measuring guide that they use. Give them the string and they will be able to tell you which belt it is. Local autozones here in FL have it so hope that helps.
