Default are these the best wheel offsets?

im getting new rims for my 2000 si. Im set on getting 16 X 7 and have a few choices of offsets.
first wheels: 44 / 31 offsets.
second wheel: 45 / 35 offsets.
I DID search but im just making sure my thinking is correct for my specific situation. From what i read, i need to stick with the 44 /or/ 45 offsets.
I dont plan on upgrading brakes or anything like that. I have coilovers, so im
not committed to the drop i currently have. I can adjust it later to suit the rims.
to me, since my stock wheels are 15X6 with a +45mm offset, the 44/45 ofsets shoud suit me best.
Just looking for a few opinions before i dump all this money on these wheels.
also, what tire size do you guys recommend for my setup.
thanks

I would recommend going with the +45 offset. I have a set of TE`s on my 00 Si with a +45 offset (16x7 w/205/45 tires) and they fit perfect! Car is lowered about two and a quarter and I have NO problems with rubbing etc.

By the way, if you haven`t already purchased those 16`s, can I interest you in a five lug conversion and 16 inch TE`s for your car?

Sorry about the late reply on this one, but being a brand new user, they limit my replies to 5 every 24 hours!!!! Argh!!! hahaha. Anyhow, you can see the wheels and my car under http://www.jimotospecial.com under the members section. I'm asking for 800 bucks OBO for the Five Lug and 1000 OBO for the Volks with Yoko AVS ES100's on them. So make me an offer if you are interested!

You could go with a 42 offset or even a 40. How much negative camber are you going to be running. Anything under a 40 and you will get a little bit of rubbing. A 45 is what is stock just look at your wheels and see how they are setback into the wheel wells. If you want to bring the wheel out a little you can go to either the 40 or the 42 offset. I am running a 15x7 40 offset and don't get any rubbing at all.
