Type R cams + Edelbroch Turbo = ?
Alright, I've got the basics of the mechanics of my b16. I've purchased a turbo, and while the car is out of commission I assume to do the overhaul to make the most of my time and money. Because the b16 is a JDM swap (prior to install), I will install the new typ-r springs and do the valve job on the head. The question is this, I've been looking at, but not purchased, the type-r cams. In conjunction with the turbo, am i going to blow up my engine? Would I need to adjust the timing of the cams with adjustable gears to compensate? Would I need to stifle the PSI due to the new cams? I need some help. Thanks for what ever you can tell me..
k, ill help you out alil and give you some slack, your not gona blow your motor cause of ITR cams. as far as if they would be best for your turbo app i don't know. but i have heard of people getting gain/ the best results with a GSR cam. the thing with really aggresive cam's and FI is that the valves stay open too long and air goes in and comes back out or there is over lap and the air is just passed threw the combustion chamber.
search around in the FI forum, there might be topic's about this or you can atleast look at other peoples setup and see what they run
