Default important question about turbo and cams

my current setup is b16 with jdm 96 type r cams. i am going turbo in 2 wwke. and i was told that i shoudl put my old b16 cams back in because the type r cams will cause too much lift for turbo and it is just safer with b16 cams. is this tru? do i need to run b16 cams instead of type r cams with turbo?

Not that they have too much lift. They have too much duration. You want high lift in turbo apps, but short duration. I would suggest gsr cams.

you can but with the longer duration your intake and exhaust valves could over lap and you would loose boost in the cylinder.

you will push boost from intake directly into your exhaust header.

use your stock B16 Cams they are less agressive.
or try to find something with a higer lift en a shorter duration.

what cams would be best for a 98 ls motor?what do you think is the best kit for that motor and is 70k miles safe to turbo or should it get a new bottom end?
