Vortech superchargers and Kamikazi headers? Are they good?!!!!!!!!
Hi,
Has anyone out there run a vortech supercharger on their '99 civic Si? The 117 bhp increase kit? If so what's it like. Has anyone eveen been in a car that runs it, I'm desperate to find out, and order one if they're as good as they sound!
Has anyone fitted a Kamikazi header - sold by Importparts.com? Thet claim 4-5 bhp increase over the D.C. header but is this true? Again what is people's experience of these, for a B16A2 engine.
If you guys can recomend other 'chargers or headers please do! Thanks...

all headers are about the same.
the vortech SC seems to put down decent HP, but you would probably be better off with the DRAG III turbo kit.

I really don't fancy a Turbo kit! Do you get much lag, how does it work with the Vtec? For road use is the supercharger not more flexible, being effective over the whole rev range? What sort of power could I expect from a Drag 3 kit?
Drag III will put down 245 to the wheels on an SI.
Not too much lag, boost kicks in around 3500 rpm.
turbo is very streetable, I've daily driven mine for over 2 years.
Some people do prefer the torque curve of an SC. if you do go SC, make sure you have a reliable tuner otherwise they generate too much hot air, and are prone to detonation.
either one would be a good choice, that you probably won't regret

Turbo's pull harder than SC.. the only reason i'd go for a SC is if I was to do a lot of autocrossing.. but i'd opt for turbo on everything else. Girls like turbo too u know
I will tell you this, if you get the Vortech blower, lower VTEC point to about 4200-4400 rpm and you won't get that spike, just more seamless power.
I think there is info on ClubSi.
