taking off front LCA
how the hell do get that one bolt that connects the lca to the knuckle out? i've always just used a crowbar between the a-arm and spring for leverage and then pounded on the lca with a hammer and the thing pops off, but this time it will not come off i pounded on that thing for like 45 minutes. whats the "correct" way to do this? thanks!

Re: taking off front LCA (DreamSpeed)
Has your car been lowered? If so, you will probably have some trouble getting it out. When I took both the right and the left out I took the wheels off of each side(never with them both off at the same time) and had a friend move the rotor back, forth, up and down until it would come straight out. If you are putting a lower stress bar on you will probably have a lot more trouble getting the replacement in there. What are you doing by the way?

Re: taking off front LCA (MiGs)
A ball joint puller will work. There are some at Harbor Freight that are "C" shaped with two flanges that fit over the LCA and a threaded rod that pushes up on the shaft of the ball joint (the part the castle nut threads on to).
Works every time for me. If this is the first time they have been off in a while they are going to be a bitch to remove. be carefull of the threads on the ball joint or you will find yourself replacing it. I usually thread a spare nut (not the castle nut!!!) over it to protect it.
