Good tires
I am looking into some Kuhmo ecsta 711 or 712's. Decently priced (40-50~ a tire) from http://www.tirerack.com . Obviously you get what you pay for but I hear good things about these tires. Or if you want to spend a little more coin go for some falkens or yokohama or nitto. I would personally go with 215/45/17

Thanks for the input. The 215/45's sounded about right. I was leaning towards that size. I had some Falken's for my 18's and one of those ************* exploded on the highway while I was doing 85, so I will probably stay away from those. I'll look into the Yokohama's and Kumho's. My friend had mentioned something about Bridgestone Pole Positions, anyone know anything about those.?

Get Nitto 555 215 40 17s i have 225 40 18 and hardly any wear in a year and they grip hella good. get 215s though my 225s are too tall for my likings i used to have 35s liked them better look wise but not for everyday driving too many pot holes.

the 225 referes to the width of the tire not the height... although getting a skinnier tire will result in a shorter tire as well if you stick with the same percentage of tire height, it doesnt make TOO much of a difference. you want some meat on ur tires so you wont bend ur wheels and bang them up like crazy in ur occasional accidental pot hole roller coaster ride. 215/45/17 is always ur best bet when it comes to ride and keeping your wheels safe

I hate to say it but I picked up a set of Wanli tires off ebay for $232 (215-45-17) & I must say they kick ***.
great grip & perfect in the rain. I tried to get them to slid but I couldnt.
I guess they are a new brand trying to make it big

I had a set of the Kumho 712's 215/45/17 and I liked them a lot until the temperature was below 45 degrees. They had great grip and they were relatively cheap. I would either get Yokahama ES100's or the 712's since you're in a pretty warm climate. They are both very nice tires.
