Default Question for the Turbo Pros

I'm thinking of running a junkyard turbo setup on my 155,000mile d16a6. Looking to boost about 6psi. Will this put alot of strain on my motor? is it worth it? would I gain much power from this setup? Most of my parts will be from 1st gen eclipse including the t25 turbo from one. My worry is if my motor will last as well as what can I run for a cheap fuel management? If I bolt the junkyard setup up and run the car will it function ok or will it require lots more fuel and tuning? Would I require a fmu of some sort or will the old pm6 ecu work fine?

I believe the rods/pistons from the a6 are pretty strong. Just don't boost too much and the key is to have it tuned nicely. You can use turbo edit. I believe that is used for OBD-0 cars.

If your motor is running strong, then I would do it, give it a comp. test and see how it turns out, if everything is good, then I say go ahead and do it.

I've been researching it alot I'm mostly just concerned about the tuning process and if the car will be drivable without any tuning until I get a chance to get it done.

Yeah u can drive it but it most likely wont run as smooth as it would if it were tuned.Tuning is very important when boosting .
