Taking lid off the Icebox - better throttle response?
I've heard that running your Icebox with the filter lid off gives the car added throttle response. Has any one felt this? Do any of you Icebox owners run your car without the lid on?

Larger than a breadbox,
warmer than a toaster,, it's the USDM "HOTBOX"
sucks any way you slice it.
Keep the top on.

I have always heard that drawing in cold air is better. My question is: Why do most people in the ECHC run short ram setups, if it will supposedly "decrease" performance? I have seen competitors using "regular" short ram, J's, and Mugen, which I know is cold air. I guess it could be a case of $$$.
Also, I remember SGT testing different intakes and also commenting that when the car is in motion the temperture difference is negligible between cold air and short ram. But, what do I know.
Maybe Warren or SGT can comment.
