I know I keep writing about this but I'm about to start putting the block back together and still dont know if I should rebuild/replace/ or leave the oil pump alone. I'm running forged rods and pistons and every bolt on you can think of. What did you guys do when you rebuilt the engine?

 

How many miles are on the old pump?

I checked and reused mine at 75k miles when I rebuilt the engine. It'll get replaced pretty soon tho.

 

The engine had 100K when I took it apart. Should I be concerned with increasing the oil pressure or just the pump falling apart?

 

Check the pump. You shouldn't have to worry about shimming the bypass valve unless you're adding more real estate to your oil system (like adding an oil cooler).

 

The most I will add is an oil filter relocator. I HATE getting to the oil filter !!
