JDM Piston...what other mods do i need?
As some of you have already know...I just bent some valves on my R...anyhow, from all of the feedback i received...i dont think dealer will cover it, so i think i'm going to take it to a performance shop to get it fix. While at it, i'm thinking about doing some basick mods since they're going to open up the engine anywayz.
I'm thinking about getting the JDM 11.1 Piston. My question is, are there any other stuff that i should change or will the JDM piston work just fine w/ USDM stock engine?
The only mod i have on the engine is AEM CAI.

the JDM pistons will fit just fine in b series motors(not sure about b20)...you might want to upgrade the rods if you plan on making a good amount of whp and revving the **** out of her....be sure to get you cylinders honed tho....and depending on the mileage on your motor, you might have to get the walls bored .25 over(still factory spec according to HELM)...you can get the JDM ITR/CTR pistons in .25 overbore, but I dont think they have the ones balanced by spoon in .25 overbore yet...could be wrong tho..
BTW..that would definately solve you ? at the bottom of your sig...NA baby!

Go with the Ctr pistons .25 over. Higher compression and slight increase in displacement, how about throwing in some bigger cams while youre at it?
i swapped my usdm pistons out for the jdm ones..while the heads off i rec. a thinner headgasket..just for that extra little kick of compression..

i also say go with the CTR piston and get some cams like JUN 3's and upgrade your valve train

Why don't you try going to the Dealer first to see if they are nice enough to help you out. I've seen people bend their valves and still have dealer fix it. I've heard someone on this board before get a whole new engine from the dealer because he downshifted to 2nd form 4th or 5th.. i don't remember.. But have it checked out just for the heck of it Ed..
