squealing????

Default squealing????

ok you guys,
my civic, an 04 EX, manual, its got 1720 miles on it, approximately, alright
so heres the prob, i gun it, and first gear is fine, does the whole vtech whining thing, then i shift to 2nd hard, and i pop the clutch and acclerate, that is where my tires squeal, and it kinda steers to the right or left, cant remember, then third, 4th and 5th are fine, nothing like that.....can anyone help????....thanks guys

It's called torque steer and that's your non-LSD equipped econobox vainly trying to attain traction at 6500 rpm. And it's VTEC, not V-tech. V-tech is a phone, VTEC is variable valve timing and lift electronic control .

Anyhow, that torquing is nothing to be concerned about, and if you are worried, stop driving your econobox like a racecar.

its a drug also known as acid or in this case a limited slip differential

LSD is a limitied slip differential.. to sum it up quick it puts down equa lpower to both wheels

They cost a grip ($1200+), you can get them from Quaife or KAAZ or SRR (although I'm pretty sure they don't make one for the d17 tranny...could be wrong), and install difficulty is harder than almost anything else you can do and needs to be done more precisely soas not to grenade your transmission.

You don't need LSD on your 04 Civic anyhow. Put that money towards some good suspension and learn much more before you consider doing anything expensive to you car.
