How many guys out there are running turbo without lsd??
Sup all,
I'm going to be boosting my gsr...aiming for about 250-300whp. What is traction going to be like without lsd??!!? non-existent?!

i have a boosted LS in a 95 hatch. i made 242whp and 221wtq. lets just say i dont know what traction is. on a stock clutch i not only chirp 2nd but i just keep peeling out all the way to 50 or 60mph. i have to get a vid of this because its some wack crap lol.

GSR 270WHP 174 TQ @10psi I can break the tires loose anytime in second. After taking my car to the track a few times I can tell that I would get a much better launch WITH and lsd. My 60ft times(on stock tires) are pretty bad 2.3, 2.4 sometimes...spinning tire like crazy unless you feather the clutch perfect. With an lsd they are like 2.1 if you launch shitty and sometimes you can snag a 1.7 and thats pretty tight work.

You can see the numbers in my sig. I shift out of first at around 5000 rpms otherwise I feel like I am defeating my purpose. If I go full throttle into second the tires will immediately burn. So you have to feather it. 3rd chirps hard and then the fun begins

311whp and no LSD. I have nothing in first when I floor it, second aint too shabby, sometimes I spin tires but when it grips, it flies.

At 10 psi I made 216whp/181tq and I run it around 8-9 psi daily. On the street in first gear my tires break loose around 5k rpms, in second gear they break loose around 6k rpms, and I chirp third gear. If I even think about launching the car the tires will break loose so it's pretty much useless in first and second gear on the street lol. I guess I could give it half throttle, but that's no fun. I am running shitty all season tires though. I have drag radials, but I am just waiting until I get my LSD to try them out. The main reason I am getting an LSD is so I can do some cool two wheel burnouts.

Am i the only one able to get the trann to lock both wheels with torque? I have a GSR tranny and i barely ever spin only one tire? normally both break free. is the gsr a lsd and i just dont know about it?

you could get a quafie for nearly the same price
and have a lifetime warranty on it

Had LSD hatch with 220whp
Now have no LSD in GSR with 300+hp.
Really is not that big of a deal. On my 16" Azenis, 1st gear takes practice, but I cut 2.2 60ft on them in a 3K lb car(gross). 2.0 60ft on BFG's, and great traction on the street.
The time you will notice no LSD is if you get on it in a corner, or on fun curvy roads is you are REALLY boosting.
Now have no LSD in GSR with 300+hp.

what kinda of power are u making and are u sure u don't have a jdm gsr tranny?

Now that I have an LSD, once boost builds in the corner both wheels break free and I go straight. Rather then one spin and the other directing me.

1gear and 2nd gear will peal out to redline way too easy. it has to be feathered perfectly or with drag radials, it hooks up like lsd.
im looking for a quaife lsd,
i run 14.1 quartermile at 5000 feet above sea level.

I share my opinion with these guys, its not that bad in a straight line. Powering through a turn though it is pretty bad. I think thats where it would be most worth it. Im considering getting one next week or so just because im planning on shortening my gear ratio and adding another 50 hp so every little thing is going to help.

None of the Honda trannys or LSD's were designed for boost.
I run a stock peg legged B16 tranny and run decent times on the track. Like was said before the only time you will notice a huge difference is in the corners with the inside tire.
