How much power can a D16y8 withstand?
Like to topic say's, I am starting to get a little crazy with my engine by putting new pistons in it and soon down the road putting nos and turbo on it. I was wondering how much horse power can the stock crank and the rods can hold?
Also if anybody knows, what is best compression to run on the motor with out being too high, I am curently running at 10:5 and we only have 92 octane here.

from what i hear, the stock crank is fairly strong, but the D16 rods are like matchsticks.......upgrade to some LS rods and get the crank balanced.....also, valvesprings and retainers would help too......
also, ur compression could be a little lower.......shot for 9.5:1........bump this up for a fellow d-series believer
