Default my lowering plans

im gonna get some prokits for my 6gen and run on stock shocks

after i get it installed and aligned , should i consider a camber kit depending on the amount of camber ? if so what degree of camber would i need to start worrying about getting the kit

i dunno if a 1.5 inch drop is enough to need the kit, but then ive heard about tire wear

should i worry about one side dropping lower than the other ?

Good job checking the guide..It has some general info that can answer some questions..generally you will not need a camber kit unless you go lower than 2"..so at 1.5 you shouldnt have anything to worry about..As far as changing your struts out it is def. something you should look into for the future...

it will be tolerable.. your front will remain close to 0 camber, but the rear will end up around -1.5 to -2.0 which is still somewhat acceptable.. when you take your car in for alignment, ask them to set the rear toe to '0'

i had prokits and stock shocks before i upgraded.. my shocks started noticeably going out a little after a year..

however, i have sh*tty roads here which are quite punishing.. the life of your stock shocks will vary according to your road conditions..

They're not that expensive. My 1.5 - 3 degree kit cost $180. I had to special order and pay for shipping too. 0 to 1.5 degree shouldn't be more than $100. If you don't pay the $100 for the kit, you'll pay more than that for the tires you'll wear through.

screw riding on stock struts.....might as well just save up and do things right. this way, you wont hafta keep dropping the suspension and installing new.

get some koni yellows (pssst....im selling some) or some tokico illuminas.

if i do springs n shocks one at a time

it would be better if i start with stock shock + aftermarket springs right ?

not aftermarket shocks + stock springs right?

my problem is money right now

no.....thats just pointless.....why do something half ***? if your problem is money right now, then doing suspension on your car should not be your goal. im sure you just want better handling on your car, and thats great. but in my opinion, when you do something, do it right and complete. so just keep saving up until you have money for springs AND dampers. you will be much happier in the long run. do ya feel me?

arent the springs the ones that cause the lowering or do the shocks help lower the car also ?

ive heard of shocks lowering the car by like 2 cm but r there ones that go even lower than that

do the lowerings from shocks just come from the adjustable perches they have or is it somehting else?

also waht shocks work with eibach prokits ive read about koni yellows going well with them but do tokico hp's work with prokits?

o yea and ive read on forums that s techs are ok for stock struts,

on their site it doesnt say anything about it tho like on eibachs site they say their prokits r tested

so i think i might just go with the eibachs just to be safe

I'm in the same situation as this guy except i have a 5th gen. One of my problems is money, but if that was the only problem i would definately just save up and do it right. My other problem is that I'm most likely going to have the car for only another year and a half because I will be going to college and most likely it will be in Boston or another big city and I wont want/need a car while I'm there. I want the handling improvement, and if I can do that for $200 dollars, I will. Spending $750 dollars is a whole nother story because as i mentioned above, I'm only going to have the car another year and a half, and I need to save money for school. Do you think the pro-kit would be good to use for a year and a half until i part out and sell the car? What if I decide to keep the car while I'm at school and then I want to put in some struts... I'd asume that wouldnt be a problem, but I dont know. Any help is appreciated. By the way, that beginners guide is great...thanks
