I had an 02 civic EX coupe in the beginning of 02, and at the time I got a great deal on a K20A2, tranny, ecu, and wiring... After finding out that there had only been one known 7th gen civic transplant, and that it was gonna cost somewhere in the realm of $9-10K to get it all done, I figured I should rethink things, and re-evaluate my position... That was a Saturday Morning... Sunday night I bought an RSX-S....

Really? I thought that the new Civics/RSXs were on the same platform. Besides wiring I would have thought it was a bolt in. Did the shop provide any detailed explaination?

here's your options if you wanna go fast...
*keep the D17A2 and slap on a turbo set up. ~$3k-4k+
*pick up a K20A3 Si engine/wiring etc. for under $3k plus installation
*pick up a K20A2 RSX-S engine/wiring etc. for... what? $5k? i don't know the going rate these days. plus installation.

all of these mods/swaps will set you apart from the average tuner. major $$ mods.]

on edit:
props to you if you keep the D17 and mod it out. even if you stick N/A, some companies have started work on intake manifolds etc. maybe even cams soon. you can get these and save a lot of cash. won't be as much power, but stickin' with a stock motor and workin it up is cool in my book.

This is a Ep3 forum but there is no forum for the EM2 & ES so this is the closest one. You should go on http://www.7thgencivic.com Anyways if you want fast the best bang for the buck would be boost

Here's the deal If you wanna go turbo like one of these guys said your gonna have to get rid of that garbage SOHC motor or else you'll make like 30 horse off it. I Plan on selling my K20a3 (SI) engine(block and head), tranny and ecu so if your interested let me know.

Since its a new engine I would build it up first with bolt ons. Exhaust, intake, cams, headers, anything that you can take off and slap on when your ready to do a swap.

Don't do that.
If you want to make your em2.
Get new motor or SF turbo.
You will need HASPORTS motormounts for k series engine swap.
