Default compustar 2WSS-AS alarm and greddy turbo timer questions...

ok guys.. i know some of you have this alarm and like it alot.. ive been in car security for a while and have always used dei alarms..

i want to try this compustar alarm now on my new car. will the reservation mode (manual tranny remote start) still work on a car that has an aftermarket turbo timer? i know there is a turbo timer built into this alarm but i already have the greddy one and it does more.....

lastly, is there anywhere i can get one of these alarms w/ a warranty? i can get them off ebay for about 215-260 but with no warranty. please let me know.

Compustar has a sequence you must follow in order to remote start a manual car to ensure that the car is left in neutral.

How does your greddy turbo timer work? Explain this to me and I can tell you if the Compustar alarm will work with the turbo timer.

Yes you can get the alarm off Ebay but the alarms off ebay voids the warranty because you are suppose to buy from an authorized dealer only.

the greddy turbo timer basically keeps the car on and running as long its programed.. once the turbo timer counts down it shuts the car off..

i realize that if i get it off ebay there is no warranty but that is the chance you take with a lot of ebay items.. is there anywhere that i can purchase the alarm and show i have experiance mecp that will not void the warranty? i dont want to pay to install the alarm when im fullly capable of doing it myself.

Check this out. This guy says he's an authorized dealer. I was thinking about ordering from this guy.

Even if that guy is an authorized dealer, if compustar finds out about it they will not supply him with any more alarms not matter the volume he brings in. I highly doubt he is an authorized dealer though. In order to get the warranty, it must be bought from an authorized dealer and installed by the same shop. However if you know a place that sells compustar alarms, then maybe they can do something for you.

You can use the Compustar as a turbo timer if you want (15/25 mins? I dont remember offhand). Anyways, I do not see any problems it will have it you use your greddy turbo timer. If you are gonna use the turbo timer when you leave the car, it will be in neutral so it is a matter setting the sequence for the Compustar alarm so you can remote start it later. If you are capable of installing the alarm yourself then you should do it. It really is no different from any other alarms. The tach wire must be learned before you can remote start the car. I am pretty sure you know where your tach wire is on your ride.

Well you see, the great thing about remote starters is they are also remote stoppers. So after 3 min, you could push the the stop button. And hey, its a TW also, so you will know it has stopped after you push the button. simple no ?

Save your money on the T timer, and get a pro to install your system ( hello warrenty !)

yes that all good if want to stand around and wait for the alarm to shut off the car to lock it.. i can wire up a relay so that when the greddy turbo timer shuts off, it will arm the alarm!

hello, i am a PRO, so the money i would be saving on the installation can pay for the greddy turbo timer, plus i already have the greddy turbo timer installed in my car! warranty isnt that hard to take care of sometimes and if it does fail, which doesnt happen very often in alarms, then i could just buy a new alarm w/ the money i saved by installing it myself, and by doing it myself i know it was done right and done well!

not that im a hella fast walker but sometimes i got places i go and dont want to sit in the car waiting for it.. its easier just to let the car run and then have the alarm arm the alarm when it shuts off..

ok i have the 2wss-r and from my understanding (i've only had the alarm for a month now)...you can turn on and off the turbo timer mode option. so i don't see why you can't hook up your greddy turbo timer and turn off the compustar one. the turbo timer only last for 2 minutes. i don't know where you guys are getting 15 minutes for a turbo timer. but the remote start will stay on for a max time of 15 or 25 minutes. i forget. but yeah, you can arm the car while the car is in turbo timer mode, i do it about 99% of the time. and you can shut the car off with a push of a button.

alarm is nice. but theives were still able to jack my front lip! which is no good. maybe it needs added features like dei alarms. but that's just my opinion. a backup battery, more sensors, prox would be nice added features. and the alarm only came with one remote. boo boo, i'm getting a 2nd one for 30 bucks. i went to the shop on friday to get it, but looks like they gave me the older model computer and antenna. and i need the newer model one to have a 2nd alarm. so looks like they're gonna replace mine for free.

i got my alarm and had it installed all for 620 or something. i hate 8.8% tax! LOL!

hope this helps.
