Default b16 first gen or b16a2 99-00 SI UDSM motor..

Whats the difference in the blocks...i have a jdm block right now and a b16a2 block any difference? aslo whick motor has more horsepower? let me know thanx

actually the b16a usdm si motor only makes 160 hp, 111tq, and the red line is 8k and the fuel cut is 8200. Also the compression is 10.2:1

the specs he listed there for the b16a2 i believe are for the second gen jdm b16, not the usdm b16

hehe no.
1st gen b16=pr3 pistons 10.2 comp.
2nd gen jdm b16= p30 pistons 10.4 comp.(170hp)
all usdm b16's have pr3 pistons and 10.2 comp.

yeah i saw he was looking for usdm motors after i posted but id rather go jdm than usdm so i mighta helped him out a lil and steered him in the right path or just waisted space

The blocks are identical. Both are PR3 blocks.

why does the jdm one have less horsepower than the usdm 99-00 motor? this is the first gen motor

It doesn't. They both have the same internal components and produce the same output. The JDM second gen B16A's are the ones with increased horsepower over the others.

actually differences in hp wise between 1st gen b16 and all usdm b16 is the cams.
mayor part why 1st gen b16's have less power is the cams
