Clutch Slippage?
when you have the clutch fully engaged (foot off the pedal) and you hit the gas and the RPM's go up but the car doesn't accelerate at the same rate as normal.
(do not do this often and be very careful to not burn the clutch)
Or you can try this. Stop on flat ground. Engage the e-brake. In1st gear very slowly let out the clutch without touching the gas. don't go too slow so you burn the clutch. From stop to either stall or re-clutch in should only be about 2 seconds at most. The car should stall if you don't push back down on the pedal. If you can get it all the way up and the car is still idling or close to and and your not moving... bad clutch.

Or try taking off in 3rd. If the car doesn't stall, your clutch is probably slipping.
I think the best way to check is get on the highway. Go about 50phh in 5th...and floor your car. If the rpms jump...your clutch is slipping.

ok.. I just took my car out and tried these two. My tried taking off in 3rd and didnt even come close to stalling.. drove fine.
I then drove at about 50mph in 5th.. but when I floor my car my rpms barely moved.
I dont know wtf to think now.. Im guessing my clutch is fine.

is this a sure-fire way to check if the clutch is slipping? i just tried this and it required some feathering, but it didn't stall. it did buck a bit though, i 've tried the 5th gear method and the rpms didn't jump.

first of all if u did that u were probably at 2.5k in 5th gear so dont expect the rpm's to fly.
i think you should just stomp it in first and rip second. If the clutch slips then its shot. If it pulls through nice then you're good to go.
