you can't run an obd-1 distributor with an obd-0 ecu. the trigger wheel in the obd-0 distributor has 16 teeth while the trigger in the obd-1 distributor has 24 teeth. The ecu will not be able to read the distributor properly and will not run the engine. you have to switch them in pairs. obd-0 ecu and obd-0 distributor, or obd-1 ecu and obd-1 distributor

In my experience there is no way you are using a distributor with a 24 tooth trigger wheel in combination with an ecu that is designed to read a 16 tooth trigger wheeland no other mods. fuel injection doesn't work like that. this is the reason that when switching to an obd-1 ecu in our obd-0 cars that one of the other parts that needs to be replaced is the distributor. the ecu counts the teeth as they pass the sensor to know where the crank is, that way it can open injectors at the right time and send spark at the right time. are you sure you are running an obd-0 ecu?

I run an aem ems in my crx and use an obd-2 distributor that has a 24 tooth wheel. I have the option to run the older distributor but it requires setting changes so that the ecu can correctly interpret crank position. I have not come across any honda ecu that changes itself in this way.

i am pretty sure that there is an obd-1 pr3, but its not very common.

obd-1 ecu plugs look like this

obd-0 ecu plugs look like this

the ecu model can be read from the sticker on the side so long as noone has moved the guts from another ecu into the current ecu case. Not common but has been done.
