Default Throwout bearing or Inputshaft bearing?

hey guys, im haveing abit of a tranny prob. my trans and/or clutch is makeing this spinning noise when i disengage (press down on the) clutch. It is also ruff to put the car into gear. To me it sounds like the throwout bearing problem, but i did some searching and i am getting mixed answers. any help would be great.

Also sometimes i can not put the car into gear when i turn it on, and need to turn my car on and off a few times before i can put it into reverse or 1st.

GSR tranny by the way.

thnx in advance

sounds like to bearing. input shaft bearing makes noise when you are in gear or even in neutral but clutch is out. if you put the clutch in, the input shaft stops spinning... make sense?

as for getting locked out of gears... you may need to bleed the hydraulics, or something inside your clutch disc or plate blew up - pretty common if you have stock clutch with around 100k

first off release bearing = throwout bearing

its possible the clutch is about gone, does it slip if you pop the clutch when shifting? it also may be your master/slave cyclinder.

if you master or slave it bad you can just go to like autozone and get another. Not pricey at all. I would have some press the clutch pedal and see if the slave cylinder is extending/traveling far enough to really be doing anything with your clutch. If its barely moving, i would replace the slave first since its like $20. Your petty isn't soft, and really easy to push is it? if it is you may have air in the line

nah the clutch pedal feels fine, i have the exedy stage 2 kit (disk, p plate, throwout bearing) , and the clutch feels fine. i was going to drop the trans today but it is raining out, guess it will have to wait till friday. ill keep you posted.

i ordered a 12.5 lbs flywheel and stage 2 exedy kit again. even though this exedy craped out on me, i still think exedy is one of the best out there... just my thoughts... we will see how it goes.

so it was BEAUTIFUL! out today so i decided to drop my trans and figure out what the **** was going on. I drop the trans, took out my clutch/flywheel to find that my spring centered exedy organic disc was.... F.U.B.A.R.D... 2 spring side walls where basically broken off causing the spring to move in and out of the little socket. I put in my new exedy stage 2 racing disc w/ new pressure plate, and throwout bearing (EXTRA!!!! grease). Also i decided to change the flywheel to the exedy 10lb.

All and all the whole job took me about 2 hours 1/2. Car is running smooth as all hell right now and the problem seems to be fixed. all that is left for me to do is brake the bad boy in.
