header installed but car turns off!!!! help!!
i just installed a dc header on my 91 civic with a B16 and i noticed it being a bit better responsive but i have a problem. it turns off when when i come to a stop. it also hesitates when i take off. like it want to drown or something. i really need some help. my firs gues is that my oxygen-sensor is messed up. it had two but i rewired it to have one. i have no idea. help will be greatly apreciated. thanks
o ok so your running a obd2 b16, cool...
chekc to make sure the CAT is not clogged. that will bog your car like crazy. also... yes make sure everything is bolted fine and that u used a good gasket...

wouldnt a clogged cat have affected him before he installed the new header? he didnt say that he installed that cat with the header. my guess is the o2 sensor rewiring. you might want to check that again and make sure you did it right.
i dotn have a cat, i didnt have that problem before, the gasket is fine i guess, it actually has 2! dotn know why. i didnt tork the header so i will check that, as for the wiring being wrong i just got the wires from the two O2 sensors and extended them into one because the bung is on the downpipe not on the header. i do not know what to do? also, what is this OBD2 thing, i do not get that. is it bad that i have obd2? help please!!!
the o2 sensors need to be undone. if you are running a pr3 or pw0 ecu you have to both sensors for correct fuel enrichment. they also need to be plugged into the right locations. the header will need to be torqued down right. but that is hardly an issue that would create this problem. in theory your car should just go to open loop and not kill like this but **** can happen.
plugged cat is a possibility but since he does not have a cat it is automatically ruled out. also the car would barely move at all since all of that pressure would have to escape through the flange at the end of the header or at the 4-2/2-1 flange.
get teh sensors wired right for the level of engine management you are running. if the problem still exists you need to start looking into other things like timing and stuff like that. as for right now it is hard to troubleshoot a problem when you know another one exists that may affect it.

Correct. You need both O2 sensors, and they need to be welded onto the header. Then plug up the hole where you currently have the O2 sensor installed.
