ITR Motor Swap Into 92 LS
hi guys...i might have access to a type r motor and trans for cheap and i was wondering how hard of a swap that would be in to my 92 ls..manual of course...was just curious about motor mounts, axels, the tranny options(hydrolic/cable), ecu and all the good stuff...i am either gonna do that and go turbo down the line or get another b18a/b motor and rebuild and go turbo
thanks
thanks
As for the B18C5 swap, probably the easiest way to deal with the tranny issues would be to slip the entire ITR gearset and differential into the LS case. The B18C5 will bolt right up to the B18A's tranny, which is good because the 3rd Gen trannies don't bolt straight into the 2nd Gen chassis. Doing this also gets you around the whole cable/hydro clutch issue.
ok i suppose i could just use the ls tranny...that keeps axels less complicated along with the cable/hydro issue....but will the ls tranny be able to hold the power...also does anybody know if i would have to get special motor mounts
