Default Coilover Suspension Setup Tips, Please

OK I have just got myself some very nice Tanabe RR coilovers and I was interested in a few views on how to set them up.

They are height adjustable at both the spring perch and at the bottom of the damper.

What's the best way of setting them up?

Should the spring be pre-loaded when the units are off of the car? Right now with the damper at full extension the springs are not loaded.

I was thinking I would start be making sure the overall strut lengths (left to right dampers)are the same (by taking everything off and adjusting the damper bottom adjustment), then build them with the spring perches again matched.

When I put the shocks on, should I then adjust them at the perch or the damper bottom to get the right height.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for confirming.

I was surprised, they are really nice, got them at a good price too UK £600, probably works out expensive in US $ at the moment because of the exchane rate but, they were a bargian over here.
