Default Steering lock

I have a Honda Accord 89 model. The steering seems to be tight when I apply break and try to turn the steering wheel. In the normal drive, its fine. But when I first start and try to turn the steering to take it put from parking lot, it is so difficult to turn the steering. Can any of you throw some lights on it. What could it be ?

do you have power steering? if so, check the fluid, you might be low or the fluid might be really dirty..

if you don't have power steering, check your alignment.. you might have excessive caster making it difficult to turn.. actually, the caster with effect it whether or not you have power steering.. just more noticeable without it..
