Default Q: Are there two D4 lights, while in Park position: steady and flashing? n/t

Perhaps I should see if the D4 is any different when idling or not running, and get back to the board. Unless you already have an answer either way. It may not be flashing but just highlighted. Going to check today asap.

Thank you,

If it's blinking, the tranny computer uses the D4 light kinda like it's own 'check-engine' light. You can pull codes the same way as as for CEL, but the D4 light will blink instead.

Jim, is there a separate diagnostic socket for the tranny codes?

In other words, do I use the standard CEl OBD I socket or something else?

I always thought it was the same, don't know if any particular year they did it different. The only auto I own is the '98 & it hasn't screwed up (yet). When you jumper it you can even have the CEL, D4, & ABS light each blinking their own codes...
