is my motor a jdm d15(b)? and power loss
ok i just recently bought a jdm d15b sohc vtec. it has been installed in my 93 ex coupe. i work at a parts store and decided to cross the plugs over to see what car the engine came out of. on the timing cover it lists bkr6e11 as the plugs. the only car i could find with that plug number was a 96-97 delsol si with d16y8 motor. on the block it says d15b, but i was told that the casting number should begin with a j and it doesn't. and i have looked up plugs for a civic vx and the numbers don't match. also i have a venom control module hooked up. with the module on, it seems like i actually lose horses. i have the orange wire hooked up to the mass air flow and the green to the throttle postion. and i am using the same wiring harness so i know that i have tapped into the right wires (called venom myself to make sure on old motor). what is up with this motor? and does it hurt that i am using plug wires from a d16z6 motor? thanks for any help
on the D15B the casting # dosnt start with a (J) and you will not find the car that the motor came out of cuz you NGK book is not from Japan it is for usdm cars and you are feeling the hp drop with the VCN400 cuz it is a pice of ****, you are lucky it even turns on. but the D15B came out of a 4door in Japan.
