i was thinking about making like a glass box, but not accutally using glass. but i was wondering if any1 has done this b4.
the pros
ligth weigth
look goos
the conthe box migth crack

You want plexiglass. There is a special cement to bond it. I don't remember the name right now.

wouldnt a plexiglass box be pretty resonant? i mean the plexiglass would have a lot of flex to it wouldnt it?

not if it's thick enough....as for weight savings - somehow I don't think so...nothing significant at least - shooting from the hip of course.

bobby gately has built a ton of them - search at sounddomain for him for more info...

I saw a nice one a few years ago... a cube made with 1" plexiglass, ported with a 12" woofer. Super expensive...

Gately Audio makes some really nice plexiglass boxes!
Plexiglass isn't heavy unless it's thick, but it resonates unless it's thick...so it's a lose lose situation. But if weight is no concern then it's fine, I honestly wouldn't trying working with plexi unless you have someone who has done it before (and was succesfull doing it) to help you. It's not one of those things that you want to learn by yourself, especially since plexi is easy to mess up and hard to get a hold of.
