Default b16 with 1.7 crank and rods

Do you guys think this is a waste of time with me taken a b16 block putting a 1.7 crank and rods with high compression pistons, i know i'm a have to bore it and all that put when its all said and done do you think it will be a waste of money for the horsepower and all you get out of it?

Why do you need to bore it? The 1.7L motors Are stroked to a 1.7l. You shouldn't need to bore it unless you want to do it.

that is correct all b series expect the b20 of course use a standard 81mm piston

so u can get it honed but no need to spend ur money on that but make sure u buy new bearing

and yes it is worth it going from a 1.6 to 1.7 is really worth it

not going to cost that much to do

now resleeving and junk that is big bucks bro

That is another question would i have to resleeve it if i'm not going to bore it any?

cause ya'll all saying i will not have to bore anything. so why would i have to sleeve it. and what all will i need to do it just the 1.7 crank, and rods?

Nope there all the same size unless you get oversized pistons. Also i have heard the the 1.7 oil pump is differnet than the 1.6. Maybe someone could confirm this.

To put it simply: Bore is the diameter of the piston/cylinders and compression has more to do with height. No, you will not have to bore the b16 block.

He was just saying you would need to sleeve the block if you bored it, and then things would start to get exspensive.

well should i do the over sized piston with resleeving it, or just put high compression piston in it with the 1.7 crank and rods?

I say just do the 1.7 crank and rods. Hondas dont seem to like being bored out. IMO it would be more realiable to go with the 1.7crank and rods then to bore the cylinders. Just do what you want to it. The high compresion pistons plus the longer stroke will make for a good all motor step up.

Ok then so 1.7 crank, rods, and high compression pistons. boring and sleeving it is not worth the trouble?
