I am looking at buying a set of pistons and rods and i was just curious on how i could go about measuring the size without taking out the block. Also can they be installed with the block still in the car.
D16Y8 about 90,000 km

no you can't measure
yes you can install with engine in car

and you never expained what your trying to measure
diameter bore? bearing size?

All i want to know is that if i buy a set of pistons, that they will fit in. Given i get the right size.

 

shouldn't u know the size BEFORE you buy them?
and not try to make them fit after you buy them

 

honestly if you don't even know what pistons can and can't go in your motor, you shouldn't be trying to install pistons on your own
