I was watchin' some special on car theft a while back on tv and remember hearing about etchin' your windows with your vin. Supposedly it is supposed to deter theives cause they would have to replace all the windows to resale the car. Any thoughts?? Did a search BTW...

 

very true, my eg has vin's on the window also, as for my dc2 it also has vin's, but dont think that having vins on windows is going to stop a theif from trying to take your car...

Thieves dont really sell stolen cars because the Vin is everywhere. They use the aftermarket parts in the car.

 

Not only will it probably not make too much of a difference in whether a thief steals your car or not, do you really think someone is going to look at your windows before they break it? No. Actually this might help out in a theft. You know how people cover up their vins on the dash that can be seen through your windsheild? Well they do that for a reason.

 

Well i block my vins in on my dashboard so that some idiot that sees my car in a parking lot and decides to get the vin number then go to a dealer to try to make a key cant do that...im just playing it safe, now most dealers require id and information and all the ****, **** thieves!

oh my bad i dont know to much about guns, all i know is to **** it back, make sure the safety's off and aim about half and inch lower then the head of the guy trying to steal my car, then pull back and watch magic happen! hopefully i dont waste to much bullets and get him in my first shot! =X

going to jail for killing someone? how would you live knowing you killed another person? how can you sleep at night?

i myself would shoot his leg and wait for the popo....

 

i have vin# on my windows also.

 

shoot for his leg and get sued for everything you have and ever will earn.

i was just saying that out of sarcasm. i hope one day i will never have to do that, but when it comes down to the point where the thief pulls out a gun.....there aint no holding me back...im bustin first.....PEACe

 

I wouldnt lose any sleep at night in removing these thieving pieces of **** from the world.

If they were breaking into cars to steal groceries for their children and families I might....but they're not.

 

if you get a mean *** dog to kill them you can say it was the neighbor's dog when the cops come!
