Default blowing fuses left and right..

I was driving home from Toronto and I turned on my lights and I heard a fuse blow, and then noticed the lights in my cluster were not working. So I pulled over at the next gas station, checked all the fuses and put a new one in, turned the lights on and pow, blew another one. I did this for about 5 minutes, 3 or 4 fuses later.. I got out and realised I had no bumper lenses like the running lights on them, and also the running lights on the back of the car, but I did have turn signals, break lights aswell..

Whats wrong? How do I fix it..

It seems like there is a wire thats shorting out my fuse, but I dont know hwere to look, how to do it or what to do..

Im a newb, help me out

More than likely the dimmer wire behind the cd player is shorting out. IF there is an aftermarket wiring harness behind ur cdplayer the dimmer wire is probably orange. Check that first.

sounds like combo switch. I just replaced one in my sister-in-law's accord w/ the same symptoms. It had an internal short to ground. Jump the switch and recheck.

This same exact thing happened to me. I grounded a wire when I installed a CD player in my car (ghetto-rigged wiring harness ). I ended up ditching the stereo for my stock unit. As long as you don't turn it on, you should be cool, but I suggest you get that thing re-wired.

If the Illumination wire is grounded it would pop that exact fuse regardless if the deck is on or not.

If your clock no longer dims when you turn your lights on that is probably the culprit.

Not to bring up a really old post or anything. But I am having this exact issue. I found a thicker white wire that is not hooked up to anything that is just sitting out so im wondering if it should be attached somewhere or if it should be grounded? Does anyone know what wire it is and where it needs to go?

Thanks

Check around the lights, a bulb can actually short out when it blows, I saw it happen a few times and it confused the f**k out of me at first!! Could be worth a look!

ya ill give that a look too, but for some reason im guessing its this white wire that is just sitting down by the fuse box. I honestly can not tell where it should go.
