Default mods effecting Redline?

I was just wondering, does adding mods like i/h/e just add horsepower and torque or does it effect how much more you can redline also?

the only way to change where you redline is by doing something to your ECU...for example, different ECU, chip, etc...

( ie different valvesprings and retainers)

yeah if you want to spend $600

do it yourself... search on how to do it or find someone who will.

as for your question, just i/h/e will let your motor breathe better but your valve train is still stock. you need to up grade that before you can raise the red line at all.

I/H/E do not add horsepower or torque. It only frees up power that was restricted before due to the relatively restrictive intake, exhaust manifold and exhaust.

And there is absolutely no point in revving higher unless you do mods that will actually make power up there. Stock GS-R's fall on their faces not too far past 7K rpm, so revving higher would probably make you slower w/ an otherwise stock engine (assuming the valvetrain could handle it). You would need other things to raise the power in the upper RPM range like hotter cams, adjustable cam gears, engine management, with everything tuned to work together on a dyno.
