RPM problems
It just happened today but, i was starting to get on it and I was in 1st, but when i was at about 7.2 RPM's it sounds like its at 8.5 and i start slowing down. I dunno if it has anything to do with it, but last night i started hearing this noise, as if something was loose, my friend sounds like my exhaust is loose, but my dad said it might be my tranny, but i dunno about either of those. Help please!

could you elaborate on that??
are u saying, at 7200 rpm's your engine "sound" changed to sound like it was at 8100 rpms?
did you warm the engine up a bit before hitting VTEC?

"no when it hits 7.2 it starts bogging and slows down, as if i were to redline it to the max at 8.5, and i don't have Vtec i have an integra"
LMFAO

my bad, didnt notice you had a non-VTEC integra.
what you are describing is the rev limiter..non-VTEC integras redline at approx. 6800 rpm's..you cannot rev higher than that under normal conditions..the ECU will not let you do so hence you are suppose to shift to the next gear.

You're the moron for reving your non vtec motor to 7.2

Hey,
I have an 92 Acura Integra GSR and it seems like the rpm's run high. For example when I'm driving on the highway doing 60mph the rpm is exactly 3500rpm it seems very high to me it should be a little below 3000rpm. I just had the clutch recently replaced. If someone could give me some help and tell me if this is normal or not.

WTF?? if your car doesnt have vtec, then its not suppose to go up that high with stock internals, non-vtec integra stock redline at 6.9rpm, and please dont try to go over that if your car is not built.

LastPunkInline: do yourself and your motor a favor: Look at your stock tachometer (which shows how many rpm's your motor is revving to) and read the numbers all the way up to 6800. You'll see that after that point the white numbers turn into RED NUMBERS. This is the designated Redline of your motor. Attempting to revv past this so called Redline will eventually cause your ECU (car's computer) to cutoff fuel and limit your revving madness. Do not revv up to or past this point ever again unless you are driving a car with a higher revv limit or you have swapped in a different or built motor. Doing so will result in extensive wear and possible damage to your motor, resulting in additional maintenence and repairs on your part. Drive safely.
