Seems like when ever im racing and i shift into 2nd it grinds and wont go in!!!!
This happens alot but not all the time. When im racing and i go to switch into 2nd it grinds bad and wont go in. I even made sure i was pressing the clutch all the way down. I dont know what it is its really making me mad.
please help

I'm sure as anyone can tell you here, your syncro is going bad. My third to fourth shift in high rpm does the exact samething. A temporary possible fix without dropping your transmission is to switch the fluid to GM Syncromesh. It helped with my grind, but I know it will eventually come back.
I'm in the same boat w/my 2nd gear grinding on high rpm, but it goes in. I switched to GM Synchromesh...shifts smooth but only driven 150miles, but still a 2nd gear grind. Its not 100% all grinds will be fixed though.
my tranny is wierd....
some times when i shift into 2nd it wont go in, but that's only when i'm shifting around 4000 to 5000 rpm....
But when i shift around 7000 rpm it goes into 2nd nice and smoothly
i can't really figure out y the **** it does this, b/c 2nd rarely grinds, and when it does grind i'm goin slow, maybe i suck @ driving slow
.......cuz my tranny seems perfect when i'm goin fast and shiftin @ 7k
i hate the ls tranny anyways....but hopefully i will beable to get an itr tranny this year.....

if it is your syncro which it sounds like you have to pull the transaxle and replace the syncro for that gear...in other words take it to a shop and have the tranny rebuilt

If I was you, I would just stick with the tranny right now. Maybe throw some GM syncromesh in there and let that do its trick. But all in all, eventually that syncro will come back to haunt you. I say start saving your cash right now and use it as an excuse to get a ITR tranny. I had an ITR tranny before I went turbo and I will tell you that it made a night and day difference (especially with the LSD and FD).
If you don't have the money for that then looks like your stuck with a rebuild. Its not cheap......

my 2nd gear used to grind and not go in every now and then when pushing it hard. I replaced the tranny fluid and it still did it. Then later added some shifter bushings and engine torque mount inserts(mine were in really bad condition)... no more engine flex... bingo! Check your bushings before you assume it's the synchro!
same thing with my crx. did occaisional 2nd gear grind when pushing it hard. added engine mount inserts (again the mounts were really worn) and shifter bushings and no more grinds.
