Default Fuel Pump Prob?

hey guys... my 88 CRX SiZC is giving me the fits..... i got a code 1 again.... oxygen content.... well i keep at least 3 of every part i can get my hands on... so i changed the O2 sensor...... 5 min. later code 1 again..... i was thinking fuel pump..... i have been hearing a bit of whining a little louder than norm.... but not all the time..... i checked it by jumping the main relay and letting it pump for 10 sec like the book says.... it pumped exactly 8ounces.... the min. that it should.... but it was not making the sound then and the check engine light goes off after i restart the car.... the light dont come on untill a few min of driving..... Q is does a pump start to just fail one min and is ok the next??????? is this norm for a pump to break down like this?.... they have always just stopped working on me in every other car in the past....... think maybe something clogging the sock?.... give me wisdom!

I would say check your fuel filters first. maybe there clogged up. did you use a new o2 sensor?

If its code 1 then its code 1. It will run like crap till you fix it, so figure out whats up with your oxygen sensor. http://www.oxygensesors.com or something (do a search for that site) sells great sensors and they have a 30k warrenty,

good luck,

Blaze

how about just replace the fuel pump and see what happens.

also change spark plugs and wires... that ended up being my friends problem with his car when it started to bog real bad.
