Default What to check for when buying a new car

Besides a car fax, while at site; What do you guys check for?

Heres What I would look for:
1. Oil leaks
2. any sign of new parts, like fenders, bumpers, etc.
3. paint colour matches
4. Rust spots
5. idle

I can't think of anymore usefull tips, please help suggest some more tips.
please don't flame me, I'm just curious of what people look for.

Thanks for your input,
EG6[B16A1]

sometimes they might have done stuff to the car that isn't listed at car fax. The only way to know for sure is to test it.

You can check if it's the stock motor by matching the serial number on the engine block with the one on the chassis.

Drive with the A/C on, power steering, brakes.

Check fluids, brake, power sterring, clutch(transmission) fluid
- check dipstick (make sure they regularly changed the oil)

See if the car's all scratched up on the bottom.

You can usually tell if the car's been in a bad accident by popping the hood and looking for paint-over screws or where the paint is not as smooth as the other parts of the car.
