Anybody with an AEM big brake kit (OEM caliper) coupled with 16" rims please help.

What's the brand, make / model number of your wheels.

I have 16" TSW Hock imitations, and I want to determine best I can whether or not my rims will fit over the AEM carbon black brake kit. I'll look up pictures of your rims to make an educated guess.

I have the kit, and I have Velox VX8Rs in 16x7. We had to grind down some of the outside of the caliper to get them to fit, but now it works. The kit works best with 16s that have no lip of design, like Rota Slips.

 

I don't get it. I knew Rota Circuit 8's won't fit after calling AEM. But the Velox VX8 has a huge lip.

 

I know, and the lip is what made it hard to fit the brakes under the rims. We had to grind down some of the outside edge of the calipers to get the rims to clear it without rubbing.

 

Any 16" rims out there that don't require caliper trimming?

 

i have all four AEM rotors front and back with 16" rota slip and they fit perfect!!! No mods.

 

i got mugen mf8's with the aem brake kit...clears then quite nicely...

 

how do u guys like the AEM brake kits anyhow? Im thinking about upgrading my brakes but i donno which one i should get.
