car wont start, wont crank?
My car always used to start on 2nd or 3rd crank everytime. I upgraded to obd1 and it still started fine. I let it sit for ohh.. 3 weeks inside. Than my dad needed to get his truck in so we took my car out and tarped it outside and it sat out there during that blizzard southern ontario had last week. Snow got under the hood a bit even though it was tarped, hood is off because the hood is off for painting.
Anyways. I pushed it back in the other day because the battery was dead, i knew the battery was dead didnt even try starting it.
Now i threw the battery on a charger, left it for 16 hours or so charger says full charge, threw in the battery. I turn the key to position 1, all the normal things work, position 2 i can hear the fuel pump buzzing and while the fuel pump is buzzing my check engine light is on, once the buzzing is gone so is the check engine light.
Next when i turn the key to position 3 to start it nothing happens, well the lights in the dash dim, and if i have my radio on it shuts off while im trying to start it. I get no cranking nothing, just a slight humming sound.
The only thing i tweaked before it would start was the vacume lines, they were completely screwed up and i put them according to the diargram on some site i found, it was from brandons crx page, i dont know the link. I never tried to start it when i finished the vacume lines. My little holder that holds the Map sensor and thoese canasters says PM6 on it, i was told the SI's only had 1 little canister beside the map, mine has 2. I just didnt use the far right one. But this wouldn't stop my car from cranking atlest if the vacume lines were wrong would it?
Would could the problem be? I cant seem to figure it out, only thing i can think of is my engine is seazed but since when does a perfectly good engine thats full of oil seaze in 3 weeks? Hmm...
I checked the fuses under the hood they are all good?
Anyone got any idea's?
Thanks!

sorry i didnt relize there was always power at the starter.
Yeah ive got power when i go to ground and onto the big wire on the top that goes to positive on battery.
Hmm... Faulty starter? Or something else? How would one check to make sure the starter is geting the signal from key or whatever, i see another wire on top of the starter that is skinnier. Is this for the solenoid or whatever? How do i check to make sure its getting power.

figured her out
I was searching and someone said that they tap it with a hammer and if it starts than your starter is fucked.
Taped it and it fired, guess starter is fucked?
Solenoid or something is sticking, maybe she needs a re-build.
Anyways got her goin!!

Take off the blk/wht (small) wire from the starter, this is a power/signal wire that triggers to sol./starter.
use a screwdriver (helms sais "jumper") and connect the terminal (not the wire) to the main power wire to the starter - MAKE SURE YOU CAR ISN'T IN GEAR -
if the starter still doesn't crank check to see that when you turn your key to 'start' that power is going to the blk/wht wire (use a test light so you dan't have to tape your key), if not the blk/wht wire is open somewhere .. if there is power going there then your starter is screwed.
good luck

Its really moist here, everythings been melting and its been a cold humidity, maybe the humidity is responcible for it.
