The Dunlops suck. ES100s are better. But ES100s suck. I'd go with S-03s.

The ES100 rubber seems pretty decent in terms of tread life (looks like it will be about 20k mi for me) and it also handles pretty well. I really dont think that the rubber is that soft though, but for a daily driver/highway use this is a very nice tire.

I'd go with them too if the price was a bit closer

Why do dunlops suck? too soft?

never used the SP9000 but i like the ES100's on the scooby - street only so i don't push them super hard but they have good grip and dont have any issues with the water so far. They're no azenis, but they seem about par with my old KDW's. Not too noisy either, IMO. And the price wasn't bad compared to other tires in my size

I'm running 225/45R17 and AWD so your results on the R may vary.

From only a couple weeks driivng I can tell that the ES100's are good at all areas but excel at none. I agree that 15-20K miles is reasonable.

I'm looking at 195/50/15, street use
Is s-03 that much better than es100?
better to ask: are they $150 better?

How about Kumho MX? For the 205/50-15 size, they're $79, which compares well with the Yokohamas. After having both, I prefer the Kumho's for the better grip and during our frigid California winters , I didn't have any problems in the rain.

The Yokohamas are $58/tire in the stock 195/55-15 size.

I enjoyed my ES100s. For daily driving and backroad runs.

I'm currently in use of the Toyo T1-S, not bad but slip if cold and cause a little more understeer than the original Potenzas.

I may go back to the Potenza, they seemed to work really well with the chassis.

Did USDM ITR orignally come with Potenzas or something else???

All USDM ITR came from the factory with the Bridgestone Potenza RE010. The stock size (195/55-15) was specifically designed for the ITR.
