Default Nobody Looks to the OTHER B engine.

Ive got a 91 rex Si with a jdm b16. Its got a stage 3 racing clutch, flywheel, cold air intake, and the engine is pretty much stock other than that. Its a great car to drive, and I love it. BUt whats starting to bother me is that everyone is truning to the B16 for a swap, or SAYING that they are going to do a B18c5 swap. Why doesnt anyone on here ever talk about the B20 with a Vtec Head? Ive got a buddy with a 92 hatch and he is working on a boosted B20 Vtec. THAT is where the torque is at!

P.S. does anyone have any leads on Ef9's with a K20 swap? I have only seen ONE! thanks.

Abba on here has a turbo b20/vtec with over 300whp in a crx I think

Knowbody does K series swaps yet because there near impossible to fabricate andyou have to makeyour own mounts and linkage and such.

Hasport is coming out with a kit very soon though for H series and K series swaps, Im thinking K series swaps will be the new hype in less than a year

I've seen numerous posts about that swap.

My 86mm C5 will make torque.
I would never use a B20 bottom end, if I wanted to do a crv/ls vtec I would use the LS and sleeve it then bore.

The only reason that everyone turns to the B16A swap is because it is so affordable, for such a reliable engine. Believe me if myself, along with thousand of others had money to throw Type R, GSR engine's in our rides, that would be the talk then!

yeah only if those gsr's and r motors were cheaper, i would've loved to get that. but unfortunitely my walet says "no" lol...so i settle with the b16. but i'm going to upgrade soon to either franky (b20/vtec) or wait for the k swap.

No, I understand that the B16 is cheap, relaible, and puts out decent power, that is why I have one. I was just getting frutsrated because it seems like every 3rd person on the forum is like "Man, yo! I just picked up this B18C5 for my CRX and was just wondering how to make it really fast".

Oh yeah. I am noticing a small oil leak near the head gasket/VTEC solenoid. I think it is coming from the solonoid. Has anyone else had this porblem, and where could I go to get such gaskets?

Why are you frustrated? Jealous?

The leak is probably the cam seal. Easy to replace.

No, im not jealous. I just find it hard to believe that there are that many people out there with a b18C5 Rex. I could just as easily tell everyone that Ive got a H22 in my rex. Just seems to me like some people dont use this for what its really for.

Thanks for the advice on the cam seal.
