Default quick turbo budget question, will only take a sec to answer, help please

I put a HKS turbo timer on a friend's talon last night and took it for a beat ride afterwards, not the first turbo I've driven, but a decision maker non the less...
It's decided I defentely want to run boost! I do really like the way it pulls when it's spooled......
I quit smoking last month, and every week my wife puts 30$ in a jar, and If I make it a full year then I get the cash, if not it's hers.....that'll give me $1500.- to spend on my car next feb.---- how realistic will it be for me to get boosted, without completely sacrificing quality?
right now my car is a stock D16Y7 with I/H/E, but in the garage I have a D16Z6, two IM w. TB's....P28, and a zex kit, I'm thinking I will trade/sell the zex kit(unopened) for some of the turbo parts...
quick yes or no are all the more of an answer I need, but will appreciate any more help.......
thanks in advance

which do you like better.
1. refilling bottles every month
2. not refilling and having power 24/7

when i began peicing together my kit, i thought i wouldnt spend more then 2000.. well im about to top 4000 bucks after tuning, but this is because i wanted a more reliable set up, went with mostly new parts, a hondata (which is one of the most reliable engine management set ups) So IMO 1500 bucks could get you boosted but how picky are u about reliability? .. im a person who thinks quality and reliabilty are the most important, so if i had to drop more then 2000 bucks then im ok with it as long as i know my car will run right.

I've never taken shortcuts on quallity with my car before, and I don't want to now, I know I don't need the most cash-rich parts, but I also know it's not gonna be ghetto fabolous....

sell all the stuff you have in the garage and you may have like 2000+ and you can put a decent kit together for that

Bout the only thing I would sell from the garage is the zex kit, I've had it for over a year, but have never had the burning desire to put it in.... the Z6 was a freebie, so it's definetely gonna go in, it'll be a lot hotter than the Y7, I don't mind spending money for quality, and 500 won't break the bank, but my wife is currently 6-1/2 months pregnant, and dropping alot of money into a del sol isn't exactly on her high list of prioirities..... (but doesn't mean it won't happen ) and the baby's the biggest reason why I need to stay within budget, and if I can't build a relaible setup for close to budget then there really is no reason to attempt.....

You can do a reliable setup for that price.

Just search for a used manifold, do your own piping (if you can't cut and weld, go to an exhaust shop) either way it wont be outrageous. ****** up a used FMIC, or a sidemount, or even a sidemount/topmount converted to a FMIC. You can use wastegates/bovs from other cars, or even get a deltagate for 100 ish, and a greddy s or r for 125 ish. As far as tuning, you can do hondata, or you can save $ and do uberdata, which only cost like 30 bucks for hardware. Look around and find the best deals on everything and you can be running pretty reliably for 1500$ or less.

Good job quitting smoking!

I would say match your wife's $30 with another $30 of your own money and you should be set. Spend the year learning and researching and actually buying when you see a great deal on a part you need and then you should be able to do almost everything yourself (labor-wise)
