So now that this thread has 3 different trans. which one is correct and which 2 are incorrect. misinformation. I guess it could be all three.

Think it's the JDM J1.

My s1 rides just under 4500rpm at 70mph. Y1's are'nt quite as steep as the S1 so I'd have to guess that he has a Y1 trans..

To end all confusion He has a Y1. I have the Y1 LSD tranny and I have the same RPM at 70 MPH. It really sucks, but it's great for the track!

There is no possible way it would change. It's just not how cars work.

Im trying to say this in all politeness.
You have one of the shorter geared trannies. Either you didnt notice it when first did the swap or someone switched them on you. but guess what? shorter geared trannies make you accelerate faster not slower. It is absolutley impossible for gear ratios to change by themselves.

you are confusing me check your speedo cable, sometimes they come loose from the tranny. but normally a check engine light would come on and vtec will not ingage.
