I was thinking. I have my Hondata gasket on my new Skunk2 IM and I have my IAC hooked up to it, The coolant running through it so i know it wont get stuck open or closed. Its heating up my intake manifold (which i dont want), so I thought of an Idea.

would anyone elese be intrested in getting a plate to be able to take the IAC off the Intake Manifold (stock or aftermarket) and keep coolant running through it? I could make them so it would be a direct bolton to the IAC.

Let me know if anyone would be intrested.

Theoretically you're right, but it shouldn't make enough of a difference to cause any performance gain. You have to remember that the area around the IACV is constantly being cooled by the incoming air. And though there will be some difference, it will be far too small to make any difference. Even on a dyno, I wouldn't expect to make more than a tenth of a horsepower doing this.

Yes, I realize that it wouldnt be like slapping on a turbo or anything. I can tell you though that just at idle when the car is warm(after some spirited driving), you can feel the IM pretty warm around the IAC and the rest of the areas quite cooler..

That gasket should make a hell of a difference.. You are talking about the one made out of some sort of plastic right?

Well a friend of mine has it on his b16 and when i touched his intake manifold it was ice cold compared to the motor which was at normal temp.. Last time i touched my manifold (stock gasket) I almost burnt my hand..

The gasket should make up for the fact that a bit of coolent is running thru the tb..
