Default Upper control arm swap?

Has anybody used the 92-95 front upper control arms on an EF? I want to be able to replace my upper ball joints without buying a new set of upper control arms for $3,761. That was a very stupid design.

If that's not possible, where can I buy aftermarket front upper control arms? I can't seem to find ANY, but people keep telling me they sell them. Who and where? Can I use the 92-95 aftermarket ones that are adjustable to correct for any differences between the 88-91?

Any help is appreciated.

"$3,761.00".... dont matter how you figure it...... good luck and search the web....

you can replace JUST the ball joint on 90-91 model EFs or at least crxs. I have an 89 with 90-91 arms on it. I got just the upper arm for 60 at a local auto store. kindof like autozone but this place is a lot smarter than the STUPID autzone/ oreilly guys.

Well that site sucks ***. Does that include the ball joints and are they replaceable(Like I asked)? What exactly am I buying? It doesn't describe anything.

I have an 89 Civic and I need to replace the upper ball joints(along with every other component)and my question was "Can I use 92-95 upper control arms?"

Hmmmmm...that might be an option. I would just have to locate some upper arms from a 90-91. Thanks.

Dude you can buy a regular 90-91 upper control arm for like 60 bux and then you can just change the ball joint next time.

oops sorry your second post hdn't come up yet when I posted that.

Dude, don't break your arm for me. I did search alot more than you seem to want to believe. Refer to this thread before you post anymore:

BTW, I already found the uppers for $59.75 a few days ago. I was looking for an alternative so in the future I could just replace the ball joint, but thanks for your help.

Yeah, I heard of someone using the 92-95, but I guess it throws the alignment off. I thought that if you used an aftermarket adjustable kit for a 92-95 you could correct the alignment.

It's just that I have done ball joints on 3 different vehicles recently and I'm trying to think of the future. I probably shouldn't worry about it too much since it's only $60 a side.

Thanks for the reply.

that is my thought too.... besides you get the new little bushings that wear out with the ones you are talking about....... that is worth a few extra bucks....

Haha, yeah I guess you're right. Those won't do me any good now though. I have a complete hyper flex kit I'm installing right now. I'm just waiting on the tie rod ends and lower ball joints and I guess I will order the upper control arms too.

hello, I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere that sells the bolts that goes on each end of the upper control arm? I called Honda and they sell the upper control arm in 1 unit and they're @!#$ expensive. I was hoping someone might have come across this before and know where I can find them?

I have an extra set of those if you want them. Pay shipping. I'm in AZ too so it shouldn't be more than a few bucks. Let me know. I also have the upper part that attaches to the control arm and the body with brand new bushings. I used my old set with hyper flex bushings so I didn't use it.

I just had the adjustable ball joints installed on my stock 91 Si control arms...

THEY ARE SWEET.

I got the extreme models, because I had about 2-3 degrees of camber, and this should get it back to spec. I can't wait to get the car back to the alignment shop and play a little in the corners. Should be fun.
