Default My aem will not see my speed nor will my AVC-R

but my speedometer works fine. I checked the wire going to my AEM EMS and It appears to be fine. But the AEM does not show my speed. It is the same wire I taped for my AVC-R but again that does not show it either. Any ideas or anyway to test and see what is not working? Car works fine I just would like the aem and also the avc-r to see the speed.

mabe its hooked to the wrong wire if both dont work. because if the speed sensor as bad your speedo wouldn't work either. but you know that already.

The speed sensor uses a standard square wave signal measured in pulses per mile(ppm). You can check your speed sensor wire using a VOM on the AC voltage scale. On your VOM put the black probe to ground and the red to the vehicle speed sensor(vss) wire and drive, voltage should climb as you go faster. There are three wires on the speed sensor to ecu. You are probably on the ground or supply wire which stay constant.

would you happen to know which wire I should check the voltage on? And are you saying check the voltage at the ecu or at the vss? Do all three wires go to the ecu or just a hot wire? I have a 92 hatch

The ecu provides the supply voltage and ground. THe vss generates the ppm signal and returns it to the ecu. You need to check at the ecu for ac voltage.
