D16Z6 or D16Y8 Tranny
Is there any differents in these trannys? I looking to get another tranny and wonder which would be the stronger tranny. Or if you have any other ideas that might fit a d series motor.
I am looking to be able to hit good speeds on the highway but not to KILL me 1/4 time.

you need to reuse the reverse sensor off the z6 since the plugs are different...
OT: But does anyone know where to get a y8 tranny or equivilant online/shipped for cheap?

My friends y8 has problems with the input shaft (has about 105k on it), but he beats on it daily. My z6 on the other hand has a very slight 2nd/3rd grind (77k)and I bought it off of the 60 year old original owner! So IMO both have their good and bad points.

3rd gear grind @ high rpm = motor/tranny moving thus causing a grind when you try to go into 3rd
new mounts should fix that...
